Kristina started her riding career at the age of 12 as a working student at Foxfield Riding Acadamy in Westlake, CA. Foxfield is the home of the famed bridle- and saddle-less drill team. Kristina would later in life teach her horse Star Trek to perform this feat. Working for her lessons most of her young life, Kristina didn't get her first horse until the age of 21.
After an absence from horses, Kristina returned to riding seriously at the age of 30. At age 39 she became a working student for Beth O'Rourke. Under Beth's tutelage, she became a successful adult jumper rider, competeing at the national Marshall & Sterling finals twice, with her horse Jurassic Park.
Beth and "Noodle" continued to fullfill Kristina's riding dreams by reaching the Preliminary level and Area I championships. The partnership culminated at a CCI*, where the pair finished on their dressage score. Noodle continues to be a reliable mount for Kristina as Kristina helps Beth develop other event prospects. Kristina and "Noodle" have been part of Equine Affaire numerous times, including being a demo ride for George Morris and Anne Kursinski.
Recently Far Out Farm has made the commitment to be the home of the new Rhode Island Derby.

Beth caught the riding bug at age eight, and she hasn’t stopped. Her current mount is a 12 yr. old thoroughbred holsteiner cross named Daxtra Ordinaire. Dax was bought as an unbroken 3-year-old, with a major attitude. Through hard work and dedication, Dax was broke, brought up through the levels, and now competes at the Intermediate level.
Beth has the special ability to bring horses back from injury that others simply have given up on. Kristina's horse Jurassic Park, “Noodle,” is one such case. Kristina bought Noodle with all the dreams and excitement of becoming a jumper rider. Diagnosed with kissing spine, Kristina's hopes were shattered, or so she thought. She had Noodle on every herb, drug, and therapy known to man, trying to reclaim her 18h Holsteiner. His future was diagnosed as a possible trail horse. Then Kristina met Beth. Beth shook her head and said, "I don’t know, it's a lot of work, but I’ll try." Try she did, and what Kristina got was a horse of a lifetime. Noodle and she went on to compete at an International CCI*, finishing on their dressage score. They went to the Marshall Sterling jumper finals ... twice! And at numerous events and shows, and hours of fun later, at 16, Noodle is still going strong.
Beth’s extensive veterinary education has served Far Out Farm well. She holds a degree in biology. Beth worked nine years at a small animal practice veterinary office, and worked with Jay Merriam at Massachusetts Equine. We are confident in Beth’s knowledge, especially during those scary moments when there is something wrong with our beloved horses.
